Woman found dead; husband, in-laws held

Three days after a woman went missing from her house at Nagla village under Lehra police station, the police today recovered her body from a dry fodder storeroom of her house. The police have arrested four persons, including her husband.The relatives of deceased Sukhpreet Kaur (26) alleged that on February 10, her husband Lovepreet Singh, a farmer, informed them that Sukhpreet had gone missing. The family members informed the Lehra police. Following a search, the police recovered her body.“The victim was strangulated to death. We have registered a murder case against her husband Lovepreet Singh, his brother Sumandeep Singh, father Karmjit Singh and mother Satveer Kaur. We have arrested all four. The body would be handed over to the relatives after a post-mortem,” said Jagvir Singh, SHO. He said the accused used to quarrel with the woman over petty issues.
