Curfew in Punjab is on 14th April, no extension

Punjab government on Wednesday clarified that it had not taken any formal decision to extend the ongoing curfew beyond April 14 in view of the Covid-19 crisis.Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh said no decision had yet been taken on extending the curfew in the state.

The confusion was created after an advisory to employees from the general administration department on a series of matters relating to the current situation.Dekho hun ki hunda aa ki 14 april to bad india ch lockdown khulda hai ja nai.Among other things,it said that the curfew/lockdown in the state was being extended till April 30.However the advisory was promptly withdrawn by the state government.Terming such reports as purely speculative and unfounded, Amarinder stated that the state government was yet to take a decision in the matter.

A decision in this regard would be taken after the cabinet meeting scheduled for April 10,he added.Amarinder clarified that the speculation on curfew extension had been triggered by an advisory to employees from the general administration department on a series of matters relating to the current situation. The said advisory had subsequently been withdrawn by the chief secretary on his directives Amarinder added.
